Our college has completed nearly 60 years of service for girls education. Since its inception in 1959 the college has not looked back and the graph of excellence has been rising under the dedicated and competent guidance of our teachers.

Our academic merit is well established with girls securing positions of merit in the university. It is not just the academics which is worth mentioning , our girls continuously bring laurels to the college by winning distinctions in the field of sports, cultural and co- curricular activities. Our efforts are to expose our students to right balance of modernity and traditionality.

Dayanand Girls P.G. College is the first women's college of Kanpur and holds the reputation of kindling curiosity, creativity and thirst of knowledge in its students. Education, undeniably, has immense role to play in personal and social development. United Nation has referred to education as "universal passport to human development ". We at D.G.P.G. College strive best to achieve this end and molds our teaching learning process in such a way that our students pass out from this institution with knowledge, awareness and good character.

We offer our students wide range of courses with necessary support of learning resources like well-stocked Library and through necessary guidance and mentoring from our committed faculty which works tirelessly towards all round development of our students. We offer quality education in Humanities, Basic Sciences, Bio Sciences, Information Technology, Library Science and Teacher's Training Program. The students are taken on educational tours like visit to higher centers of learning and Industries to give them an exposure to the applied aspects of various disciplines. For this purpose, students are also encouraged to undertake projects and micro studies. Teaching –learning-process is kept interactive by incorporating tutorials and a system of continuous assessment in our programs. We try to keep pace with latest development in various subjects by organizing Seminars, Workshops and Faculty development programs. On campus career counseling and placement drives are also organized for the students.
